Available as a design in our online garment shop
The
mural depicts several healthy ways that students can express
themselves through the visual arts, including pencil, colored
pencil, crayon and paint. Many children who cannot stay
ahead in an academic setting, find they have a very strong
inclination toward artistic mediums. Not only does it give
them a safe outlet to express their emotions, but it also
allows them to experience success and to learn valuable
lessons in a hands-on environment.
The
resident artist for the project was Harley Munger. The mural
was built in colaboration with Turning Point School and
the Department of Mental Health, and construction was completed
by fifth and sixth grade students at the school.
The
size is approximately 16 square feet.
